I began "spriting" when I was pretty young. I had an old IBM PS2 computer with a program called Paint Shop Pro. You could make custom graphics using pixels. It was only black and white, but I maganged to use it to make small animations to amuse myself.
Years later, I discovered Wario Comix (wc.xandor.ca) and it inspired me to make my own comic (ndex.simgames.net/comics.htm). I had to manipulate some sprites for the first comic to make FLUDD and POLTERGUST items for Mario and Luigi. Later, I noticed that Wario Comix had no compatible Waluigi sprites, so I created some and sent them to Suigi, the maker of the comic.
From there I went on to make SSBM sprites for Luigi, then Mario, then Dr. Mario, using Tanman's existing, yet limited, sprite sheets as a base. I submitted these sprites to PsyGuy's sprite archive, a popular sprite site at the time. PsyGuy featured some of my sprites in a SSBM comic, Items on High; this was a high point in my early spriting career. I then made SMW versions of Waluigi and Wario, and submitted my sprites to TSGK. TSGK has been my home for sprites ever since.
